Patient support and education is essential in addressing SABA overuse and optimising asthma outcomes. It's important that patients do not feel they are being denied (SABA inhaler) treatment, but rather they are being actively managed - and their treatment optimised - to improve their asthma control, both in terms of current symptoms and long-term risk.
